this tracker is free and works right here, no sign-up. rox is the app behind it. it remembers every entry, keeps your pain next to your symptoms, medication and wearable data, and turns months of it into something a doctor can read in a minute.
how it works
1
rate today on the 0 to 10 pain scale
2
tap where it hurt, what it felt like and what helped
3
come back daily and your pain pattern builds itself
your data stays on this device. we never see it, and there is no sign-up.
01
what is the 0 to 10 pain scale?
it is the numeric rating scale clinicians use. 0 is no pain, 1 to 3 is mild, 4 to 6 is moderate, 7 to 9 is severe and 10 is the worst pain imaginable. it is subjective on purpose: the useful part is that your own 7 today means roughly what your 7 meant last week, which is what makes a trend readable.
02
how do i track chronic pain properly?
rate it once a day at a similar time rather than only when it spikes, because only logging bad days makes everything look severe. record where it hurt and what helped alongside the number. after two weeks you can see whether it is trending up and what tends to precede your worst days.
03
what is the best free pain tracker app?
the one you will keep using. this tracker is free with no sign-up. rox is the free ios app version: it keeps your full history, tracks pain beside your symptoms, medication and wearable data, and turns it into a summary you can hand to a doctor.
04
can i show my pain log to my doctor?
yes, and it is one of the most useful things you can bring to an appointment. use copy my log or email me my log to send yourself the history. a few weeks of numbers, locations and what helped is far stronger than trying to describe your pain from memory.
05
is my pain data private?
it saves only in your own browser, on the device you are using. nothing is uploaded and there is no account to create. clearing your browser data clears the log, which is the trade-off for keeping it entirely on your side.
rox is a pain and symptom tracker, not medical advice. it cannot diagnose or treat anything. if your pain is new, severe or worsening, contact a health professional.
