What Rox does, which conditions and wearables it works with, what happens to your data, and what you can use for free without downloading anything. If your question is not here, email us and we will answer it.

the basics

what is rox?

Rox is an iOS app for tracking chronic illness. You log how you feel, Rox finds the patterns in what you record, and it turns months of entries into a summary a doctor can read in a minute. If you wear a watch or a ring, your sleep and activity readings sit alongside it.

how is rox different from chatgpt?

ChatGPT forgets you the moment you close the tab. Rox keeps your history: your conditions, your medications and every symptom you have logged. That memory is what lets it show you which symptoms travel together and what tends to come before a bad stretch, which a fresh chat window can never do.

is rox free?

The app is free to download, and the tracking is free to use: symptoms, medications, wearable data, patterns and doctor reports. Talking to Rox, the conversational part, is the paid feature. There is a free trial, so you can see whether that is worth it before you pay for it.

is rox available on android?

Not yet. Rox is iOS only today and Android is in the works. If you are on Android, the free trackers and printable worksheets on this site work in any browser on any phone.

do i need a diagnosis to use rox?

No, and the undiagnosed stretch is often when tracking is worth the most. A few months of dated symptoms with severity and what came before them is frequently the strongest thing you can put in front of a clinician. Rox does not diagnose anything; only a qualified clinician can do that.

conditions

which conditions does rox work for?

Any long-term condition where symptoms come and go. That covers fibromyalgia, ME/CFS, POTS and dysautonomia, long covid, endometriosis, lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, multiple sclerosis, Ehlers-Danlos, MCAS, gastroparesis, migraine, PCOS and perimenopause, among others. You can add your own symptoms, so nothing depends on your condition appearing on a list.

i have more than one diagnosis, does that work?

Yes. Rox tracks symptoms rather than labels, so overlapping conditions sit together naturally. That matters with multiple diagnoses, because the useful question is usually which condition a given symptom belongs to, and you can only answer that from the pattern.

what if my condition is rare?

It still works. Rox is built around symptoms you define yourself, so a rare condition is tracked exactly the same way as a common one.

can i track with no diagnosis at all?

Yes. Add whatever you are experiencing, rate it, and log what preceded it. You will build the record that a first appointment tends to go much better with.

how tracking works

how does logging work?

You rate how hard each symptom hit that day, grouped the way a body works rather than as one long alphabetical list. It takes under a minute on a bad day, which matters: a tracker you cannot face on a bad day misses exactly the days that count.

how does rox find patterns?

It works from the symptoms you log: how often each one appears, how severe it gets, which ones show up together, and what you noted around them. What it surfaces are associations worth exploring with your clinician, rather than proof that one thing caused another. Wearable readings are displayed alongside your entries and are not currently folded into that analysis.

how long before it is useful?

Two to four weeks for most people. Anything that moves with a cycle needs two to three months, because one cycle proves nothing on its own.

what is the doctor report?

A five-section PDF laid out in the order a clinician reads: a plain-language summary, symptom trends, medications and adherence, energy and vitals, then your own notes. You choose the date range, and you choose when to share it.

can i see and export my own data?

Yes. Your history stays visible in the app, and the doctor report exports as a PDF you can email or print.

what if i miss days?

Nothing breaks. Gaps are normal with chronic illness, and a record with holes in it is still far better than reconstructing six months from memory in a ten minute appointment.

wearables

which wearables does rox connect with?

Apple Watch, Oura, Garmin, Amazfit and Fitbit. Sleep, resting heart rate, HRV and activity flow in automatically and are shown alongside the symptoms you log.

do i need a wearable?

No. Rox works from what you log on its own. A wearable adds the overnight and background numbers you cannot observe yourself, so you can see them next to how you felt.

what does rox do with the wearable data?

It brings your readings into the app so sleep, heart rate and activity sit in one place next to your own entries. Rox does not currently combine wearable data with your symptoms to generate patterns; that analysis runs on what you log.

does connecting a wearable share my data with anyone?

No. Connected health data is used only to power features inside Rox. The privacy policy sets out exactly how it is handled.

privacy and your data

is my health data private?

Yes. Rox does not sell your health data, does not share it with data brokers, and does not use it to build advertising profiles. The privacy policy has the specifics.

is my data used to train ai models?

No. The content of your conversations is not used to train foundation models, and the AI providers Rox relies on are held to terms that prohibit them from training on your content.

where is my data stored?

On secured servers, with encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, and least-privilege access for staff. The privacy policy covers storage locations and the providers involved.

can i delete my data?

Yes. Delete your account and your personal information is deleted or de-identified, with the timeframe and the narrow legal exceptions written out in the privacy policy.

do the free trackers on this website store anything?

No. The trackers on this site save to your own browser on your own device and never reach a server. Clearing your browser data clears them, and nothing is sent anywhere.

doctors and clinical use

does rox replace my doctor?

No, and it is not trying to. Rox is the part between appointments: the record, the patterns, and the summary that makes the ten minutes you get with a clinician go further.

can my doctor see my data?

Only if you show them. You export the doctor report as a PDF and email it, print it, or hand it over. There is no portal that gives a clinician access on their own.

is rox a medical device?

No. Rox is a tracking tool. It does not diagnose, treat, or give medical advice, and nothing in it replaces a conversation with your own clinician.

Rox is a tracking tool, not medical advice. It cannot diagnose or treat anything, and nothing here replaces a conversation with your own clinician.
