the free symptom tracker does the same job in your browser and works out the patterns for you. rox is the free ios app behind it: it remembers every entry, reads your apple watch, oura, garmin or amazfit, and builds a summary a doctor can read in a minute.

how to use it

Blood pressure means very little as a single number and a great deal as a trend. Take it at similar times, note your position every time, and record pulse alongside it.

If you are tracking orthostatic symptoms, position is the whole point. A reading taken sitting tells you nothing about what happens when you stand, which is exactly where POTS and other forms of dysautonomia show themselves.

01

how do i keep a blood pressure log?

take readings at consistent times, rest for five minutes first, and always write down your position and pulse. one reading is noise. a fortnight of readings at the same time each day is data a clinician can act on.

02

what should i record with blood pressure?

systolic, diastolic, pulse, the time, and whether you were sitting, lying or standing. add anything unusual such as caffeine, poor sleep or a hot room, since all three move the numbers.

03

how do i log orthostatic readings?

rest lying down for five minutes and take a reading, then stand and take readings at one, three and ten minutes. record heart rate each time. that pattern is what clinicians look at for orthostatic intolerance, and this sheet has room for all four.
